Submitting Comics

The Trees & Hills Comics Group exists to bring together cartoonists in Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts; so the Trees & Hills Comics Distro carries comics produced in Vermont, New Hampshire, and western Massachusetts. We treat this as a community service more than a profit-making enterprise.

We buy comics up front for 50% of cover price; we don’t do consignment. If you want to do part or all of a transaction in trade, we offer full cover price in trade credit. We sell the comics online, at conventions, to stores, and to individuals, and will drop a line infrequently to let you know how they’re doing.

We like to buy from artists in person when we can. The best way to do this is to attend or organize a cartooning get-together like those put on by us, and others announced at our group’s site. If you can’t bring yourself to be around other cartoonists, you can send a sample comic or comics (samples will not be returned, though we may send a comic in trade). You should hear from us in a few weeks; if you don’t, feel free to follow up with a note or email to make sure we received it.

If you live outside of our area and still burn with desire to see your comic in our stock, feel free to send a sample. If all three main organizers like it a bunch and agree we should carry it, then we will offer full cover price in trade credit, and bring your comics to the stores of our region. It may take us a while to get back to you, though. Or just send in a comic with request to trade for something of comparable size - trading is fun!
